Are you a woman aged 35-65 years old? Is your BMI over 27.5? Do you want to lose weight, have a healthier lifestyle and ultimately be fitter? Our 12-week Fit Cobblers programme can help you do this for free. You’ll get a behind the scenes look at Northampton Town Football Club (at Northampton sessions) and be trained by selected Community Trust coaches. Who knows, maybe you’ll even bump into a player or two. So what are you waiting for?
The FREE twelve week long course aims to provide participants with the knowledge, support and activity to help make small lifestyle changes which can have a positive effect on their health. If you are thinking about losing weight and improving your health, you’re not alone and this is the perfect first step to join a group with like-minded women to make that happen.
Each week, the FREE course, covers a number of different health related topics including thinking about alcohol consumption, food labelling, keeping food diaries and making better food choices. The participants record their progress throughout the programme in their workbooks. The sessions also have guest speakers which have included Head Chef of the football club (among others). In addition to the classroom based activities the participants also take part in weekly exercise sessions. These include walking football, circuit training, boxercise and jogging.
On the completion of the programme each of the successful participants is rewarded with a certificate. They are also provided with peer support and are guided into exercise and physical activity sessions in the local area so they can continue the good work that they have started.
