NTFC TEAM TALK
Team Talk has been designed in response to gaps in local provision and local need as described by the demographic we'll be supporting: primary pupils and educators. We acknowledge the need for support for secondary pupils too, however having completed an audit of our resource, experience and capabilities, we've identified primary age as the demographic where we can have the most significant impact. Our overarching aim is to address the layered complexities of mental health needs, both existing and COVID related, of primary aged pupils (at home and shielding) and support teachers in catering to these needs. Specifically, the programme will achieve the following outcomes:
Pupils:
1. Improve pupils' understanding and awareness of mental health/wellbeing
2.Increase pupils' confidence in identifying mental health needs within themselves and peers
3.Improve pupils' awareness of strategies/exercises to improve wellbeing, including physical/social/mental/emotional strategies
4.Increase pupils' awareness of the support available to them in the community
Teachers:
1.Improve teachers' confidence in identifying mental health needs within themselves, pupils and teaching peers
2.Improve teachers' understanding and awareness of the mental health challenges facing children
3. Increase teachers' confidence in delivering mental health provision
Topics Include:
Anxiety, Coping Strategies, 5 Ways to Wellbeing, Closure, Stress, Mindfulness, Stigma, Resilience, Isolation & Loneliness, Relaxation and the Media Coverage of the Pandemic.
