RHYS BARNES
Senior Education and Sport Mentor
I joined Northampton Town Football Club Community Trust in October 2021 as an Education and Sport Mentor.
Prior to joining the Community Trust, I studied at the University of Hull, where I achieved a first-class Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Coaching and Performance Science. I have also completed a Research Masters project at the University of Hull, in partnership with Hull City Football Club’s academy.
Working in football has been a dream for me. Since gaining my Level 1 coaching qualification when I was just 16 years old, I have gone on to become a qualified goalkeeper coach.
In my role as an Education and Sport Mentor, I am looking forward to delivering the Premier League Primary Stars Programme, which will make a huge difference to the young people of Northamptonshire, helping them excel not only in sport but in their education as well.
