RUSSELL LEWIS
Disability Development Officer
I have been working for the Northampton Town Football Club Community Trust for over 25 years.
Previously, I was a professional footballer for Swindon Town and Northampton Town, then later a semi-professional footballer for Kettering Town and Merthyr Tydfil. I combined playing football and working in the building trade as a bricklayer, an apprenticeship I completed before signing for Swindon Town.
When my playing days ended, I decided to go to college for a year to gain a leisure qualification. I was fortunate to find work at Greenfields Special School, working with a young person on a one-to-one basis for a term. During this period, the Community Trust vacancy was advertised, and after a successful application, I started working for the organisation.
